I created a 16-minute video in portrait mode. The camera remains stationary, capturing children joyfully jumping towards the sea, even though the sea itself is never visible. We only see the children leaping from a rock, creating an intriguing tension. This video resembles a living painting where the act of jumping seems infinite.
Meanwhile, the sun sets slowly, and over the course of 16 minutes, the large rock is gradually enveloped by shadow.
This visual tableau is a meditation on the passage of time and the repetition of actions. Through this fixed frame and continuous movement, the video invites the viewer to contemplate the cycles of life and the ephemeral beauty of each moment. The boundaries between stillness and movement, day and night, blend to create a contemplative and poetic work.
In parallel, I presented a photo edition created in Piève during my residency at Providenza, which depicts a scarred territory, exploring the marks left by human alteration on this landscape.
